Gorillas can be tracked year-round, since permits are issued daily regardless of season. That said, the dry seasons — June through August and December through February — offer the easiest trekking conditions. Trails are less muddy, and the hike itself is more comfortable. The wetter months (March to May and September to November) bring lush scenery and fewer crowds, but the terrain is more demanding underfoot.
