Day 1: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking from Kigali and departure
You will get up fairly early to eat breakfast at your hotel. A guide will pick you up between 5 and 6 a.m., from Kigali, and start your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park leaving with packed lunch.
The briefing at the park headquarters normally lasts between 7:30 and 8 a.m. intended to take you through the trekking rules and guidelines before the trekking commences.
You will be divided into groups of eight and assigned to one of the 15 habituated gorilla families within the park based on your overall fitness and preferences.
The trekking can last longer than planned depending on where your allocated gorilla family is.
At around $15 you can hire a Porter to relieve you of the effort of hauling your heavy bags, allowing you to focus on gorilla viewing.
You’ll only get an hour with the gorillas, so shoot as many shots and films as possible as soon as you see them and are approved.
Once you’ve finished seeing the gorillas you will return to the park office where you will be awarded with your certificates of participation in gorilla trekking , then travel back to Kigali or any drop-off of your choice thus marking the end of your 1 Day Bwindi Gorilla Tour from Kigali.
